UPRTOU Assignments
The university provides a dedicated Assignment Paper section, making it incredibly simple for everyone to access the correct materials for their specific course of study. By streamlining this process, UPRTOU ensures that all students can easily manage their internal assessments and meet their submission deadlines at their respective study centers.
Detailed Info about UPRTOU Assignments
As a learner of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) you already know that distance learning is not just about qualifying for the end-term examination. Your assignments are where the real academic progress happens. Whether you are a B.A. student, an M.Sc. one or pursuing a diploma in any professional field, assignments is where you can score grades while sitting at your home.
To make this even easier for you, we have further simplified it in this guide. Everything from where to get the questions to how to ensure your study center accepts your assignments.
Why are UPRTOU Assignments so important?
At UPRTOU, assignments are compulsory. They are not just “extra practice” – they carry significant weightage in your final marksheet.
Weightage: Typically, these internal assignments constitute 30% of your final marks in a subject, with the remaining 70% based on your performance in your Term-End Examinations (TEE).
The Pass Rule: You must PASS your assignments separately to be able to clear the course. If you miss submitting your assignments, you will not be allowed to appear for the exams or your results will be “Incomplete.”

Writing Your Assignments: Pro-Tips for Better Marks
Since assignments are a major part of your grade, don’t just rush through them. Here is how to make them stand out:
1. Handwritten is Key: All UPRTOU assignments must be handwritten. Do not type or print them.
2. The Right Paper: Please use only A4 size paper. Also, for a great experience, you could use just one side of the paper to write.
3. The Correct Pen: Preferably use only a blue/black ballpoint pen. Do not use red/green ballpoint pens for the main text.
4. The Cover Page: This is the most important part. Your first page must clearly state:
- Enrollment Number
- Name of the Student
- Study Centre Name & Code
- Course Code and Title
- Date of Submission
Where and How to Submit?
Once you’ve completed your assignments, you don’t send them to the main University headquarters in Prayagraj.
- Submit at the Study Centre: You must hand over your assignments to the Coordinator of your allotted Study Centre.
- Get a Receipt: Always, always ask for a submission receipt. If your grades are not changed in the future, this is your sole evidence of submission.
- Make a Copy: Just in case your written assignments vanish within the realm of marking, it’s a very clever idea to photocopy or scan your work before submitting.
Assignment Submission Last Date
The January 2026 Assignment Submission last date was extended to February 25, 2026.
(Note: Sometimes these dates are extended by the university, so keep an eye on the official “Notice Board” on the official website – uprtou.ac.in)
